What is the Highland Community Church Weston Campus?

We believe the Lord is leading Highland to “help people take the next step in their relationship with God” by specifically carrying the Gospel to the Weston area.   

People in Weston are accustomed to traveling five or ten minutes to get groceries, go shopping, and go to school, yet, for Weston area residents, it is about a twenty minute drive to Highland Community Church’s Wausau campus.  By taking the God-given strengths of Highland to a Weston area campus, we believe we will be used by Him to effectively bring His gospel to more people in the Weston/Kronenwetter area (which is one of the fastest growing areas in Wisconsin!). 

Who preachs at the Weston Campus?

The Weston campus is an extension of Highland’s existing Sunday morning ministries.  One way to think about this is that Highland has Sunday services (during the winter months) in the Wausau Café room, in the Wausau Sanctuary, and in the Weston Sanctuary.  In Weston we do a video cast of Pastor Jeff’s sermons 3 out of 4 Sundays, and in-person preaching, again by Pastor Jeff, 1 Sunday per month.  [In turn, Pastor Jeff preachs our 8:00 service (or 9:00 am service in summer) in person every week in Wausau, and preachs at 10:30 (during school year) in person 3 out of 4 weeks in Wausau.  The remaining week is video].  The rest of the worship services (at both campuses) will be “in-person” each week. 

What ministries are held at the Weston Campus?

Pastor Dan MacDonald serves as the Weston Campus Pastor. The sermons, dramas, and worship (10:30 style) will be the same on both campuses.  Sunday school for all ages, children’s church, and nursery will be provided.  Weekday ministry opportunities (One Way Club, Generation 180, Women's Ministries, Men’s Ministries, etc.) will continue to be held at the Wausau campus only. 

We will continue to have one united pastoral staff, one united elder board, one united Leader board, one united mission’s board, one united budget…one united church in two locations!  We will always be one church.

Upcoming Weston Dates:

June 8, 2008:  Last day of Sunday school at the Weston Campus until Fall.  Worship at 10:30 continues.

June 15, 2008:  Summer schedule starts.  10:30 a.m. worship service with nursery and children's church available.
