Agent Dave Forsythe will be presenting on the drug, alcohol, sex, and media culture our teens are surrounded with. He will cover trends, stats, warning signs, dangers (including media dangers), action steps, and more. His presentation will include photos, real-life stories, and actual items related to the above topics that participants can familiarize themselves with.
Even if you have no reason to suspect that these things directly apply to your son/daughter, this session will be helpful for parents to dialogue with their teen about the things seen and heard living as a Christian in today's world, processing media, or issues with their peers.
The objective of this session is for parents and leaders of teenagers to be better-equipped and better-educated on some of the very real and very threatening issues every single teen faces (to widely varying degrees; directly or indirectly) in today's culture. We hope to increase our ability to come along side these young people and help them navigate these turbulent times so they would ultimately experience an uninhibited, deepening relationship with Jesus.
This 60-90 minute session is open only to adults. Pizza and beverage will be provided for lunch. Anyone willing to bring "finger-food" desserts to share is appreciated. The Wausau Campus participants will get their food before the session begins, allowing time for the Weston Campus participants to drive to Wausau. The Weston individuals will go through the food line when they arrive.
Childcare may be provided if there is enough need so please sign up today.
(Women's Wednesday morning study at Wausau Campus starting March 7)
This study provides a personal study experience five days a week with video sessions of this life interrupted Bible Study. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! In this 7-session Bible Study, Priscilla redefines interruption and shows that interruption is actually God's invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city. This class will be led by Kristin Whitaker. Classes are from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Childcare is available. Cost of the book is $12.50.
