Highland Community Church...Helping you take the next step in your relationship with God Highland Community Church
Helping people take the next step

"To partner with adults to help children take the next step in their walk with the Lord."

The vision for Children's Ministry (age birth - 5th grade) at Highland Community Church is to make disciples...

*  by teaching children how to pray
*  by providing opportunities for them to experience God's presence and provision
*  by teaching children the truths contained in the Word of God
*  by providing opportunities for them to explore the truths for themselves
*  by teaching children how to draw into the presence of God through dynamic worship
*  by teaching them a process of evangelism which leads them to salvation
*  by baptizing them in the name of Jesus Christ
*  by teaching them to obey the commands of God including the command to be "salt" and "light" to others through their works, actions, and choices.

Children's Ministry Overview If you would like to see the theme, Biblical text reference, and memory verse for each week please click here.
Children's Church Children's Church is provided during the Sunday worship service for age 4 through 2nd grade. The children leave the sanctuary about 20 minutes into the service to have their own time of singing, Bible stories, craft, and practical time. It is intentional that the children leave the service after 20 minutes. We feel strongly that as a church, and as parents, we need to be training our children how to worship. At the same time we recognize that children in the young elementary years may not be ready for the full service or the sermon topics presented. So Children's Church is their time of worship.

Children's Sunday School

Sunday school is available for ages 3 - 5th grade. It is intended to be educational and provide a solid foundation to build on for life. Our staff of experienced and energetic teachers would love to share God's Word with your child at 9:20 a.m. each Sunday during the school year.

All of our Sunday school teachers complete an application and undergo background checks prior to teaching. We also use a rule of two adults per classroom to further ensure the safety of your children.
